Exquisite, lightweight handwoven Margilan silk gauze, traditionally loomed in Uzbekistan. This fine, lustrous open-weave scrim is almost transparent, offering an ethereal quality ideal for fibre artists, textile designers, and felters.

Made from 100% pure silk, this gauze is prized for its gossamer structure, making it a perfect base for Nuno felting, needle felting, textile collage, or even papermaking. The delicate weave allows wool fibres or embellishments to easily migrate through the silk, bonding beautifully for textural effects.

Margilan Silk Gauze takes dyes exceptionally well, making it an ideal choice for creative projects using Procion MX dyes, Acid dyes, or Landscapes dyes.

Handwoven using traditional techniques, each length celebrates the craftsmanship of Uzbek artisans. Please note this is a very fine fabric and is best handled gently.

We currently ship outside Australia to many countries using Australia Post’s International Express service. Rates will be automatically calculated at checkout.

Click & Collect : Thomastown

When ordering online you can choose 'Click & Collect' for order collection at our premises at 2/99 Heyington Ave, Thomastown, Victoria. We will email you confirming when your order is ready to collect.

Orders can be collected 10am 4pm Monday to Friday and we would appreciate it if you could collect your order within a week.
