About Us
Welcome to Kraftkolour — Australia’s home of textile colour, creative materials and fibre-arts supplies since 1984. We’re a passionate team of makers, dyers, printers, spinners and textile lovers who have built this business around one simple idea: supply great products, honest advice and reliable support to everyone who works with colour and fibre.
For over four decades, artists, schools, studios, yarn spinners, weavers, fabric printers and creators of all kinds have trusted us to stock the dyes, fabrics, tools and fibres they need to bring their ideas to life. From Procion and acid dyes to printing inks, batik supplies, natural fibres, spinning wheels and more — we carry one of Australia’s most extensive ranges of textile and surface-design products.
What We Do
At Kraftkolour we do three core things:
Supply quality materials at fair prices
We curate and stock dyes, printing inks, auxiliaries and accessories that creatives actually use. Whether you’re dyeing silk scarves, screen-printing tees, felting with wool tops, or spinning your own yarn, our range supports a huge variety of textile and surface design techniques.
Support makers with knowledge and service
Our business isn’t just about products — it’s about helping you do good work. We provide clear product information, advice on choice and use, and reliable customer support. If you’re unsure what type of dye to use on cotton versus wool, or how much ink you might need for a school workshop, we’re here to help.
Keep things flexible for studios, schools and pros
We understand that creative environments have unique needs, whether that’s bulk orders, safety considerations in classrooms, or specialised tools for workshops. That’s why we work closely with schools, art centres and studios to make ordering and supply as easy as possible.
Our Warehouse & Operations
Behind the scenes, our warehouse is where the real work happens. Located in Thomastown, Victoria, it’s here that we receive, store and dispatch thousands of products each year — from dyes and fabric paints to fibres, tools and equipment.
We work hard to maintain stock levels of both everyday essentials and hard-to-find supplies. Orders placed online or by phone are picked, packed and shipped with care, whether they’re heading to a local art studio or across Australia. And if you’re nearby, you can also choose click & collect from our premises — a favourite option for many of our regular customers.
Our warehouse isn’t a silent, anonymous storage space — it’s active, organised and shaped around quality control. That means we check stock carefully, make sure products are stored safely, and ensure everything is ready when you place your order.
Our Team
Kraftkolour is driven by people who live and breathe craft and textiles. Our team is made up of:
Seasoned textile practitioners
people who have used these products themselves and know how they behave in real creative environments.
Customer support specialists
friendly voices ready to help you choose the right products and answer your questions.
Warehouse and logistics experts
the people who make sure your order arrives on time and in excellent condition.
We work collaboratively, learn from our customers, and stay curious about new products and techniques. Our goal is to be accessible, helpful, and real — not salesy — even when you’re dealing with technical things like dye chemistry or fabric compatibility.
Who We Serve
Our community is incredibly diverse — from beginners just discovering dyeing and weaving, to professional textile artists and educators. Some of the people who choose Kraftkolour include:
- Art and textile teachers looking for reliable supplies for classrooms
- Studio practitioners focussed on printing, painting or dyeing fibres
- Spinners and weavers building their own yarns and textile pieces
- Boutique designers and makers selling handmade garments or artworks
- Schools, Craft Associations and Indigenous Groups who actively create
- DIY enthusiasts exploring new creative avenues
No matter your experience level, we treat every customer as part of the Kraftkolour family — with respect, patience and attention to detail.
