Latte Milk Tops 100% Casein Fibre – Natural White
Latte Milk Tops 100% Casein Fibre – Natural White
Wonderfully soft, lustrous and innovative, our Latte Milk Tops 100% Casein Fibre – Natural White offer a unique spinning and fibre art experience. Made from the casein proteins naturally found in milk, this luxurious fibre combines a silky appearance with a soft, warm handle and remarkable versatility.
Beautifully white, fluffy and springy, milk fibre is exceptionally pleasant to work with and surprisingly easy to spin. While silky in appearance, it behaves more like wool during spinning, creating smooth, balanced yarns with a soft drape and elegant sheen. It can be spun on its own for delicate, silky yarns or blended beautifully with wool, silk, alpaca, bamboo and other fibres to add softness, lustre and refinement.
Produced using a process similar to regenerated cellulose fibres, milk fibre is manufactured using casein protein and zinc oxide, contributing naturally bacteriostatic qualities. While bacteria may survive temporarily on the fibre, they are unable to multiply, making this fibre a hygienic and skin-friendly option for garments and wearable textiles.
With a natural pH close to that of human skin (approximately 6.8), milk fibre is exceptionally gentle and comfortable to wear. It also offers excellent moisture absorption and breathability, helping finished textiles feel soft and comfortable against the body.
Its natural white shade makes it ideal for hand dyeing, taking both natural and synthetic dyes beautifully and producing rich, luminous colour results with excellent clarity.
