Kraftkolour Acid Dyes deliver vivid, deeply saturated colour for protein-based fibres including silk, wool, nylon and feathers. These dyes are designed for a simple hot-water dyeing method using the addition of vinegar or Texacid (a stable form of citric acid) to the dye bath. They boast good light- and wash-fastness and are available in multiple pack sizes to suit hobbyists, educators and small-scale textile studios.

  • Powdered acid reactive dyes formulated for protein fibres (silk, wool, nylon, etc.).
  • Available pack sizes: 50 g, 100 g, 250 g, 500 g and 1 kg — so you can scale from sample to bulk.
  • Dyeing method: dissolve dye in hot water, add citric acid or Texacid to set the dye, immerse fabric, then rinse and wash off as instructed.
  • Colours are inter-mixable across the range, offering broad palette flexibility.

  1. Confirm that your fabric is mainly protein fibre (silk, wool, nylon) — cellulose fabrics (cotton, linen) will not take these dyes effectively.
  2. Pre-wash fabric to remove finishes or residual sizing for best dye uptake.
  3. Use hot water (check manufacturer instructions for temperature), dissolve the dye completely before adding citric acid fixative.
  4. Ensure free movement of fabric in the bath for even colour distribution.
  5. Rinse thoroughly after dyeing, then wash off according to instructions to remove unbound dye and enhance colourfastness.
  6. Store remaining dye powder in a cool, dry, sealed container to preserve potency.

Online orders are sent using Australia Post during business hours Monday to Friday. Orders are usually sent 1-2 days after your order is placed or when a pre-ordered item arrives. We email shipping confirmation with tracking information when your order is dispatched.

Shipping is calculated at checkout according to the weight of the order, and your address location.

Most orders will have the option of:

  • Australia Post Standard Shipping (estimated delivery in 3-5 days)
  • Australia Post Express Shipping (estimated delivery in 2-3 days)

Kraftkolour cannot guarantee expected delivery times.

Kraftkolour may use other carriers from time to time for bulky or heavy shipments.

Shipping : International

We currently ship outside Australia to many countries using Australia Post’s International Express service. Rates will be automatically calculated at checkout.

Click & Collect : Thomastown

When ordering online you can choose 'Click & Collect' for order collection at our premises at 2/99 Heyington Ave, Thomastown, Victoria. We will email you confirming when your order is ready to collect.

Orders can be collected 10am 4pm Monday to Friday and we would appreciate it if you could collect your order within a week.
