Tussah (Ghecha) Silk Fabric – Natural Cream & Brown, 110cm Wide

This handwoven Tussah (Ghecha) silk fabric is a richly textured, characterful cloth with a strong natural presence. Made from traditional tussar silk and ghecha, it is known for its organic slubs, gentle variations, and raw elegance.

Often considered one of India’s oldest indigenous silks, Tussah silk has a distinctive surface and a soft yet rustic hand. The fabric displays natural tones of cream and brown with a wood-grain–like appearance, and a subtle lustre that becomes more apparent once draped. Lightweight and breathable, it is almost opaque, offering both substance and ease of wear.

Woven by skilled artisans in the eastern regions of India, this fabric reflects a long tradition of handloom silk weaving and celebrates the natural beauty of the fibre itself.

  • Rinse thoroughly until water runs clear, then dry flat or hang with even support to avoid distortion.
