Eri “Ahimsa” Peace Silk – Handwoven Natural White 114cm Wide (85gsm)

Eri “Ahimsa” Peace Silk is an ethically produced, handwoven silk made using fibres harvested only after the moth naturally emerges, offering makers a cruelty-free alternative that still feels distinctly silky. At approximately 85 gsm and 114 cm wide, this textile has a soft, breathable hand and a natural matte finish that dresses softly and breathes in wear. The fabric’s gentle texture and neutral natural-white tone make it a superb blank for botanical dyeing, eco-printing, or refined garment making where ethical sourcing is a selling point.

Eri silk’s character is quietly luxurious rather than glossy, giving finished pieces a warm, tactile presence that reads artisanal and considered. Designers appreciate the way it drapes on the body without clinging, and studio makers prize its forgiving surface for hand-painting or low-temperature dye processes. Because it’s handwoven, each metre carries subtle variations in weave and tone that add unique charm to small collections or bespoke garments.

This fabric is ideal for conscious fashion lines, sample making, and studio experiments where provenance matters as much as performance. Its ethical story pairs well with natural dye techniques and slow-fashion collections, and its width makes it useful for both accessory work and larger garment panels.
