This activator is formulated to thicken and provide extra colour boost for use with reactive dyes like Procions or Drimarenes. It helps enhance dye uptake and fixation — particularly in painting, tie-dye or creative folding techniques where you want strong, vibrant results and reliable colour bonding. It also ads viscosity because of the alginate thickener ingredient.

  • Designed for reactive dye systems (Procion, Drimarene).
  • Example usage: dissolve 100 g in 1 litre of hot water; stir until thickening begins.
  • Mix this solution with dye and apply into fabric folds or tied areas; allow to fix (often >24 hrs) for full depth.

For use with Procion MX or Drimarene Reactive Dyes.

  1. Dissolve 100gms powder in 1Ltr of warm/hot water.
  2. Stir until all the powder is dissolved and allow to thicken. If you want this to be thicker, add more powder.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon of Methylated Spirits as a preservative. Store in a cool dry place.
  4. Dissolve dye in a small amount of hot water.
  5. Mix thickened solution with dyes and apply with a brush or squeeze bottle.
  6. Wrap in plastic and allow to air fix for 12-24 hours or steam for 40mins. Wash clothes separately for the first few washes.

Always measure carefully, mix in hot water as per instructions, and test on a small sample before full application. Ensure fabric is clean, pre-washed and ready for reactive dyeing.

We currently ship outside Australia to many countries using Australia Post’s International Express service. Rates will be automatically calculated at checkout.

Click & Collect : Thomastown

When ordering online you can choose 'Click & Collect' for order collection at our premises at 2/99 Heyington Ave, Thomastown, Victoria. We will email you confirming when your order is ready to collect.

Orders can be collected 10am 4pm Monday to Friday and we would appreciate it if you could collect your order within a week.
