Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel Single Drive

Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel Single Drive

Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel Single Drive

The Ashford Traditional Spinning Wheel in the Single Drive configuration delivers the same solid build and smooth treadle as its double-drive counterpart, but with a simpler drive system—ideal for general purpose spinning and those who prefer fewer moving parts. The 56 cm (22″) wheel diameter, Scotch tension system, and robust build make this model a trusted choice for hobbyists, advanced spinners and small business alike.  The single drive option provides four speed ratios (approx. 7:1, 9:1, 12:1, 17:1) and is well suited for medium counts, multi-purpose yarns and everyday spinning tasks.  With the same heritage frame, accessory compatibility and trusted brand support, this wheel is a versatile investment for spinners who want quality without extra complexity.

Benefits

  • Simpler drive system means easier set-up, less adjusting and ideal for most general spinning needs.

  • Trusted Ashford construction and performance in a widely used form.

  • Balanced choice for hobbyists, small studios or makers spinning multiple yarn counts.

  • Can handle a broad range of fibre types, counts and production levels.

Ideal Applications:

  • Spinning general purpose yarns: DK, worsted, sport counts for knitting or weaving.

  • Hobby spinners upgrading from entry wheels to higher quality build.

  • Educational settings or classes where students need a durable, reliable wheel.

  • Small business yarn production with moderate volume and general counts.

  • Mixed-fibre studios where ease of use and versatility matter more than ultra-fine control.
