Ashford Four Shaft 60cm / 24" Table Loom

The Ashford Four-Shaft Table Loom in a 60 cm (24″) width delivers versatile weaving in a mid-sized format suited to new weavers scaling up or studios with space-constraints. Four shafts provide the foundation to weave a wide variety of fabrics—scarves, panels, home-textiles or narrow yardage—while the 24″ width offers substantial panel real-estate. The hardwood frame and overhead beater ensure stable, even weaving.

This loom suits makers who are ready to move beyond rigid heddle systems or smaller formats but are not yet ready for large floor looms. It offers an excellent platform to build technique, produce wider fabric and expand creative potential.

  • Weaving width: 60 cm (24″) — plenty of width for scarves, panels or moderate yardage.
  • Four-shaft configuration gives access to basic twills, colour and structure variation.
  • Constructed of hardwood frame with reliable ratchet & pawl warp-advance system.
  • Ideal for warp lengths suited to the width and medium projects.
  • Pre-set the loom on a stable table, ensure proper depth for warping, thread warp and check tension across width.
  • After weaving, block or wash fabric depending on fibre content to stabilise.

  • Choose reed size and sett appropriate to yarn weight and desired fabric density.
  • Warp length and width must align with finishing expectations (shrinkage, drape).
  • Secure loom to table and ensure enough clearance for shuttle and cloth take-up.
  • Maintain even tension across full width to avoid edge distortion.
  • After weaving, finish fabric and measure width to confirm expected final dimensions.
