Gum Arabic, also known as Acacia Gum, is a 100% natural plant-based binder and thickener used in textile painting, screen printing, and pigment preparation. Extracted from the hardened sap of the acacia tree, this fine Kraftkolour gum dissolves easily in warm water to create a smooth, stable paste ideal for mixing dyes, pigments, and printing media.

In textile applications, Gum Arabic provides excellent flow control and binding strength without affecting the hand or drape of the fabric. It’s particularly valued for use with silk paints, natural dyes, and metallic pigments, allowing fine detailing and sharp print definition. Because it dries clear and flexible, it is also used as a base for resist work and as a stabiliser in mixed-media fabric projects.

Hydrate slowly while stirring to avoid clumps. Store airtight in a cool, dry space to prevent crystallisation. For added gloss or adhesion, mix with natural or acrylic mediums as desired.

Online orders are sent using Australia Post during business hours Monday to Friday. Orders are usually sent 1-2 days after your order is placed or when a pre-ordered item arrives. We email shipping confirmation with tracking information when your order is dispatched.

Most orders will have the option of:

Kraftkolour may use other carriers from time to time for bulky or heavy shipments.

Shipping : International

We currently ship outside Australia to many countries using Australia Post’s International Express service. Rates will be automatically calculated at checkout.

Click & Collect : Thomastown

When ordering online you can choose 'Click & Collect' for order collection at our premises at 2/99 Heyington Ave, Thomastown, Victoria. We will email you confirming when your order is ready to collect.

Orders can be collected 10am 4pm Monday to Friday and we would appreciate it if you could collect your order within a week.
