Glauber Salt  (Sodium Sulphate) is essential for dyeing with reactive dyes, especially turquoise shades, as it improves colour absorption and ensures even dye uptake. Unlike regular table salt, it is pH-neutral, free from iodine, and does not alter the fabric’s texture (hand).

In the dyeing process, Glauber Salt acts as a leveller, helping distribute dye evenly across the fabric. It plays a crucial role in three ways: driving the dye into the fibres, maximising dye exhaustion, and acting as an electrolyte to support dye migration, adsorption, and fixation. While not a dye fixative itself, it ensures the dye is properly positioned on the fibre before the alkali sets the colour.

Online orders are sent using Australia Post during business hours Monday to Friday. Orders are usually sent 1-2 days after your order is placed or when a pre-ordered item arrives. We email shipping confirmation with tracking information when your order is dispatched.

Shipping is calculated at checkout according to the weight of the order, and your address location. Rates are supplied by Australia Post, and/or other carriers if listed.

Most orders will have the option of:

We currently ship outside Australia to many countries using Australia Post’s International Express service. Rates will be automatically calculated at checkout.

Click & Collect : Thomastown

When ordering online you can choose 'Click & Collect' for order collection at our premises at 2/99 Heyington Ave, Thomastown, Victoria. We will call you confirming when your order is ready to collect.

Orders can be collected 10am 4pm Monday to Friday and we would appreciate it if you could collect your order within a week.
